Sweep Article of the Week
This week: THE INDIANS WIN 2!!!!

The Indians played both games today short handed with only nine players, and 3 of those where injured and needed runners. The Indians took a short road trip north to the mighty house of the Brewers in the first game. Indians jumped out to a fast start with 2 singles by Jim Kawahigashi and Donnie Allen and a pair of sacrifice flies by John Banta and Dave Young these plated 2 runs. Brewers came back with a run in there half of the inning. 2ND both teams went down with out a fight. 3rd inning had the Indians stringing out a lead off single by Steve Rude followed by a Kawahigashi double. This was followed by an infield out, and a Banta sac fly. 1 run in the Indians 3rd. The tribe held the high powered attack from the land of cheese to no runs in the 2ND 3rd and 4Th innings. In the Indians half of the 5Th another sac fly by Dave Young plated Jim Kawahigashi. The Brew Crew scored once in there half of the 5Th. The 6Th was scoreless. Going into the 7Th the Tribe was up 4-2. The Indians scored once on singles by Donnie Allen,John Banta and Dave Young, followed again by a sac fly by Bryan Roth. 4Th Indians sac fly of the game. Bottom of the inning the Brewers tried to rally scoring twice but leaving the winning run at 2ND base. The game was played in under 40 minutes! The Indians defense did not have a single error in the game.

2ND game was back to the mistake on the lake. The high powered Delisse Defenders the visiting team. Again playing with 9 players and 3 not running, the Defenders looked like they where out to scalp the Indians. Scoring 5 in the first looked to deflate the Indians on what everyone thought would be another 30 something run up the score assault by the Defenders. 5-0 after 2 as the Indians Defense settled down a bit. In there top of the 3rd the men of Delisse put up another 2. 7 zip going into the Indians half. At this point Captain Roth mentioned something to the crowd about how the 30 run rout was on. 10 batters later all who reached base, the Indians had tied it at 7! Key hits a Dave Young double and Jim Kawahigashi with a single and a walk. 2 more runs for the Cheesers in the 4Th and they took a 9-7 lead over your heroes. In the 5Th inning the Tribe tied it up with a Banta single and another Dave Young sac fly. After 5 innings score was knotted at 9 apiece. In the 6Th the Delisse led attack scored 3 times on a misplaced outfield ball that should have been just a single. Going into the 7th the Indians where on the minus side of a 9-12 score. In the bottom of the 7th Steve Rude led off with a walk, Kawahigashi walked, Donnie Allen singled. Bases loaded the Indians down by 3 the Defenders decided not to pitch to John Banta and walked in the 1st run. 10-12 getting closer, no outs. Bases loaded single by Dave Young scored 2. Tie game. Capt. Roth singled, Jeff Berkowitz walked, bases loaded 1 out. Spencer Magraw hit a deep sac fly to score Donnie Allen with the winning run.
